USA Vacations: A Diverse Range Of Destinations To Relax In
The USA is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, and it’s easy to see why. The country is so large and diverse, and the opportunities are endless. One day you could be skiing in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, the next you could be shopping on Rodeo Drive in LA, then you could finish it off with a couple of nights lounging on the pristine white beaches of Hawaii. The only bad part about vacationing in the USA is having to choose where you want to go!
In this article we shall outline just a few of the great places in the USA to visit for a vacation. This list is by no means exhaustive, and is just a representation of all that this great country has to offer.
We shall start by looking at New York city. Everyone has their own expectation of what this famous city will be like, and once you are here the reality should by far exceed whatever you were expecting! If you love to shop, there is no better place to go in the world than New York city. Not only this, but no matter what time of year you choose to visit you will see something different. During the winter months the city is a beautiful and magical. With regular snowfall, ice rinks and Christmas decorations all around the city it truly is a winter wonderland. Many people choose to just come to New York for a long weekend, but there is plenty to keep you busy if you choose to stay for longer. Described as “the city that never sleeps” you will find something to do day and night. One of the most famous attractions in New York city is the Statue of Liberty. Another experience you can’t miss out on is going to see a musical on Broadway. There are always plenty of shows to choose from and all are spectacular.
If the city lifestyle is all a bit hectic for what you’re after from your vacation, do not fret, there are plenty of other more relaxing places. Why not take a trip to Arizona and visit some of the many outstanding national parks as well as the magnificent Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon has to be seen to be believed, it truly is one of the world’s best natural wonders. There are plenty of accommodation options in and around the Grand Canyon National Park, although you may choose to stay in one of Arizona’s towns or cities and take a day trip there.
Feeling lucky? If so, a trip to Las Vegas could be the best decision you ever make. Situated in the state of Nevada in the mid-west of the USA, Las Vegas is self-titled “the entertainment capital of the world” - and that is no exaggeration. Vegas is best known for it’s huge array of elaborate and luxurious casinos, resorts, cabarets, and other forms of entertainment. If you’re after glitz and glammer - Vegas is the place to be. One of the benefits of vacationing in Las Vegas is that the accommodation is generally very cheap and of a high quality - as they hope that you’ll spend your money in their casinos!
The next destination we shall look at is one for the kids! If you want to ensure they have the vacation of a lifetime, there’s no better place than Orlando, Florida. As well as having beautiful subtropical weather most of the year (although it rains a lot between June and September), Orlando is best known for it’s world-class theme parks and resorts. The city has more theme parks and tourist attractions than any city in the world - so there’s no chance you will run out of things to do! The best known of them is Walt Disney World. Since it opened in 1971, it has attracted tourists from around the USA and across the world. Disney World has four theme parks, two water parks, twenty-three themed hotels, and a wide range of dining, shopping and recreational facilities. If you can tear yourself away from Disney World, two of the other most popular tourist destinations are Sea World and Universal Studios. As well as having a huge range of sea animals on show, Seaworld is famous for it’s resident Orca whale, Shamu. Shamu performs shows throughout the day, and is a favorite with both kids and adults. Universal Studios is the second largest resort in Orlando after Disney World, and has several theme parks as well as six themed areas - Hollywood, Production Central, New York, San Francisco/Amity, World Expo and KidZone. The resort is based around the movies and there are several rides that make you feel as though you are in a movie.
So I hope those great vacation ideas whet your appetite for a vacation in the fabulous USA!
